..the meat cleaver that is. The Butcher Shop will be doing custom and retail butchering of both wild and domestic game.  So whether you have a steer on the back forty or had a successful hunting weekend at the ranch, we can handle your butchering needs.
Cut, vacum packed and wrapped steaks, chops and roasts of your choice, fresh and smoked sausages, fresh ground hamburger and gourmet jerky are just a small sampling of what The Butcher Shop will offer.

Construction has begun!  We have officially begun demolition and remodel on the inside of The Market and The Butcher Shop.  Did you know that this was originally a drive through market?  During the upcoming weeks we will be working diligently to transform this space into an “upscale country” market.  Until then, we hope you check back each week for more updates.

Bacon Makes Everything Better…

Bacon makes everything better, at least we think so.  That’s why The Butcher Shop will offer butchering services for both domestic and wild game, choice and prime steaks and a full line of charcuterie, including bacon of course.

To save you that trip out of town, The Market will offer a fresh seafood counter, an enticing array of locally sourced and produced products, plus gourmet and specialty food products. In addition, you can indulge your sweet tooth with our gourmet and local chocolates and desserts.  Plus all you “Marthas” out there can shop for baking essentials like melting chocolates and fondant.

Oh, and did we mention lunch?  We hope you’ll stop in for fresh and tasty selections!

Hello and welcome to our Blog!

We are excited to announce that The Market & The Butcher Shop are coming soon to downtown Hollister!  We will be posting weekly updates and hope you check back with us often.

A little bit about us:
 After living elsewhere for the last 17 years we moved back ‘home’ in December 2009 so we and our children could enjoy small town living with our extended families.  We are thrilled to finally be fulfilling one of our goals; to open a small business in our hometown. 

We both have such fond memories of growing up in Hollister and by opening The Market and The Butcher Shop, we hope to bring a little bit of what we love best to downtown Hollister.  We will feature fresh, gourmet and local groceries and products and a full service butcher shop for domestic and wild game plus so much more.  We are passionate about enriching our home town and supporting local business.
